Dr. Laila Al-Marayati is a Board Certified Obstetrician-Gynecologist, currently serving as the Chief of the Division of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Gynecologic Sub-Specialities at the USC Keck School of Medicine. Dr. Al-Marayati is committed to providing the highest level of quality, comprehensive reproductive healthcare to all women at all stages of life. She teaches residents and medical students, focusing on surgical training. She has additional expertise in the care of women who have undergone female genital cutting. Prior to joining the team at USC, she provided women’s health services in the community health center setting as a result of her ongoing commitment to the care of the underserved.

She has been a long-time activist in the Muslim community, with particular emphasis on promoting the rights of Muslim women through her work with the Muslim Women’s League. As a presidential appointee to the US delegation to the UN Conference on Women in Beijing, Dr. Al-Marayati contributed to numerous events and documents related to women’s rights. She was later appointed to the US Commission on International Religious Freedom.

She has participated in a number of medical missions abroad and is the chairperson of KinderUSA, a humanitarian organization that provides services to Palestinian children and their families in the West Bank, Gaza, and Lebanon.

She completed her undergraduate degree at UCLA, medical school at UC Irvine, and her residency at LAC+USC.
